Where has he been? Busy times. Start of school.
The photo of the calendar is not very legible - but it has lots of black on it. The pedal has gone to the metal, and won't be lifting much at all until Easter Sunday has been and gone on 23 March.
School started this week, which meant my daughter's first day - truly a moving rite-of-passage!
The address I gave at the opening-of-year service was based on the account of the 12-year-old Jesus in the temple from Luke 2:41-52. The relationship of the person learning to those teaching involves sitting down together, listening, and asking questions (v. 46).
Coming to school involves growing in stature and favour with God and man (v. 52). I got the shortest prep student, and stood him next to the tallest Year 6 student - the prep barely reached the waist of the Year 6. That is surely growing in stature! Yet the growing in wisdom is more than reading, writing and arithmetic. Especially in a christian school, and where our school motto is "Grow in Grace" we learn our three R's whilst experiencing and communicating further God's grace.
